World War II bomb explodes on a taxiway at Miyazaki Airport in southwestern Japan forcing the closure of its runway.

O scurtă înregistrae video publicată pe X arată explozia de miercuri, surprinsă de camere de supraveghere.
Un crater a apărut pe una dintre pistele din aeroport şi a condus la anularea a 80 de zboruri, au anunţat autorităţile japoneze.
Nicio persoană nu a fost rănită, iar pagubele cauzate de explizie au fost reparate peste noapte.
Bomba care a explodat cântărea 227 de kilograme.
Orice pericol pare îndepărtat iar o anchetă se află în desfăşurare pentru a stabili circumstanţele exploziei.
More than 80 flights to and from Miyazaki Airport (Miyazaki City) were canceled due to the closure of the runway, as at around 7:58 a.m. on the 2nd October, an explosion took place on the taxiway.

Aeroportul Miyazaki a fost construit în 1943, în timpul războiului.
El era folosit ca teren de antrenament aerian al Marinei Imperiale japoneze.
De pe acest aeroport decolau unii dintre piloţi în misiuni sinugigaşe kamikze.
Numeroase bombe americane neexploadate au fost descoprite în zonă secolul trecut.
Însă multe dintre ele rămân îngropate pe teritoriul japonez.
